Reaching Your Ideal Weight

Set realistic goals

Aim to lose 0.5-1 kg per week. Rapid weight loss is unsustainable.

Focus on nutrition

Reduce refined carbs, increase protein and fiber. Avoid crash diets.

Move more daily

Start with 30 min walks. Gradually add strength training.

Track progress

Weigh weekly, same time. Focus on trend, not daily fluctuations.

Note: Ideal weight is a guide, not a strict target. Factors like muscle mass, age, and overall health matter too. Athletes may weigh more due to muscle. Consult a healthcare provider for personalized advice.

How is ideal weight calculated?

We use an average of multiple scientific formulas (Devine, Robinson, Miller) adjusted for frame size, and validate against BMI-based ranges using India/Asia guidelines.

Why does frame size matter?

People with larger bone structures naturally weigh more than those with smaller frames at the same height. Frame size accounts for this variation in body composition.

Are these ranges different for Indians?

Yes. We use BMI cut-offs of 18.5-22.9 for normal weight, which are lower than Western standards (18.5-24.9) because Indians tend to have higher body fat at the same BMI.

Should I aim for the exact ideal weight?

The healthy range matters more than a single number. Being anywhere within the range is healthy. Focus on overall fitness, not just the scale.
